Consider the second paragraph of Sam Coates’s Commentary for today’s Times:

Now [David Cameron]‘s MPs worry about strategic miss-steps, Tory activists rage about gay marriage, and previously sympathetic media outlets are rampant in their hostility.

One can see the Freudian reason why that one went adrift: “gay marriage”, “rampant” — and, hey presto!, we have some young miss involved.

Added to which, it is a well-rehearsed truism that all the best Labour scandals are financial, and all the best Tory ones are sexual.

So, who’s the miss?
